The best bird watching spots in Nepal are Phulchoki, Godavari, Nagarjun, Taudaha in Kathmandu, Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park, KoshiTappu etc. out of the Kathmandu valley.To enjoy bird watching, one needs to be equipped with a binocular and encounter the best bird watching experience. Nepal has been successful in preserving many endangered birds at various national parks, and forests around Kathmandu valley. The valley’s rim is covered with lush green subtropical forests, which forms a very good habitat and important habitat for many birds in Nepal where we may see and find birds most of the times.
For our bird watching experience we head on to the foothills of Phulchoki- Godawari Botanical garden. Lying on the outskirts of the south east of the Kathmandu valley, this botanical garden is a beautiful place for those interested to get a glimpse of the different species of birds without much of a hike. You can be able to spot the birds like babblers, warblers, tits, thrushes, minivets, woodpeckers, eagles and many migrant birds. Along with birds, you also get to have an insight of beautiful green plants, ornamental plants, dark luscious trees etc.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 : Phulchoki and Godawori
Early in the morning, after your breakfast, the representative from Odea services comes to pick you up at your hotel. You drive to the foothills of the beautiful Fulchoki via a private vehicle. We provide you with equipped binoculars, a book, and a packed lunch for the whole day. We start our day trip from the Godavari Botanical garden. You can have the close look at the birds found here at the botanical garden. Later in the day, we drive to other similar places nearby Kathmandu valley for the view of the birds.
