Overview

The Mardi Himal Trekking is a recently opened trekking routes in Annapurna Mountain range. This tours caters you to experince Heritage zone, local culture,nature beauty,magical rhododendron forests also mountains as well. This trek is ideal for those people who want to trek in the off the beaten trails with no tourist around.Situated just east of one of the most popular treks of Nepal, Poonhill and the Annapurna Base Camp trek, the Mardi Himal trek is a hidden beauty. As it is hardly known, just a few trekkers made their way before to the Mardi Himal Base Camp, which is spectacularly situated at the base of Mardi Himal and the impressive Machapuchhre. The trail goes eventually to the high base camp, but starts ease off along small paths through magical rhododendron forests, until you climb out of the forest around 3,300 meters. The landscape then changes quite abruptly into a rough high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.From High Camp (3.900 meters), we trek in one day to Mardi Himal Basecamp at 4.500 meters, which offers spectacular close up views of the entire Annapurna Range. The return trip is partly different since we will descend to the Mardi Khola river and by that way to Lwang.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu

Arrive Kathmandu. Flower garlands reception at the airport and transfers to hotel.

Day 2 : Sightseeing tour of Kathamndu Valley

After breakfast, you will be taken for sightseeing at two medieval cities of the Kathmandu Valley; Patan and Bhaktapur.

Boudhanath Stupa:Situated on the northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu, this is another holy place for Buddhists. The dome, mandala, pinnacle, umbrella, and the whole Stupa itself is a true works of art and beauty. Recently renovated Stupa post-earthquake gives serenity in the crowded city.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Bhaktapur was the capital of Nepal during the great Malla Kingdom. Bhaktapur has the best-preserved palace courtyards and old city center in Nepal and is listed as a world heritage site of UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal and stone artworks. You will be taken to the attraction sites such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, BhairabNath Temple, Dattatreya Temple.Evening will host welcome Dinner(B/D)

Day 3 : Transfer to Pokhara (Via flight, Private Vehicle or Bus)

After breakfast, we heading to Pokhara which takes 7 hours via drive. We will have a launch on the way. Shortly after lunch, will be reached around 2 pm to the picturesque, valley of POKHARA. Pokhara is a place of remarkable natural beauty. After refreshments will be near by lake.(B)

Day 4 : Trek to Deurali(2,232 m)

Having breakfast, then heading to Kande via a drive which takes 40 Minutes from Pokhara. The trail climbs for about 1.30 hrs to the ridge at 2,060 m. The clearing in the forest with lodge settlement is known as the ‘Australian camp’. The place is scenic with a panoramic view of the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley. The trail further winds through the rhododendron forest to the mountain pass called ‘Deurali’. Deurali is overlooking the Modi Khola valley wedged between Annapurna South and Mardi Himal / Mt Fishtail.(B/L/D)

Day 5 : Trek to Forest Camp (2,600 m / 5 hrs)

Having breakfast and spending the beautiful morning in the ridge-top village of Deurali, we head off the main Annapurna trekking trail and follow the forested ridge to Forest camp. It’s a new Trekking route so we need to carry pack lunch and sufficient water. The day’s walk in the rhododendron forest is beautiful with a gradual uphill.(B/L/D)

Day 6 : Trek to Low Camp(4 Hrs / 2,950 m)

The trail gradually climbs through the rhododendron forest following the ridge. The low camp has got a couple of tea houses in the clearing of the forest. The view of Mt Fishtail and Mardi Himal appears much closer. You find yourself closer to a clear blue sky with a view of layers of Himalayan foothills and a sweeping valley towards the south.(B/L/D)

Day 7 : Trek to High Camp (3 HRS / 3900 m)

After breakfast we start our trekking from Low camp to High Camp  (3.900m). where you can see various snow-capped mountains like South Annapurna, Himchuli and Machhapuchhre or also known as Fishtail. After we will walk upwards along the Nangge Danda to High Camp at an altitude of 3.900 meter where you will be staying overnight.(B/L/D)

Day 8 : Explore Mardi Himal Base(7 Hrs / 4,500 m)

he day trip is more difficult than other days with a steep climb and longer walk. The trail becomes more vertiginous at some points with uneven and steep rocky steps. The first steep climb will take about 2 hrs to the ridge top which is marked as MBC (Mardi Himal Base Camp). However, the real base camp will take about another 2 hrs along the ridge. The view is amazing all along the ridge. While Mardi Himal and Mt Fishtail appear right above us, the view of Annapurna I, Gangapurna and Annapurna III also appears at a distance.(B/L/D)

Day 9 : Trek Back to Forest Camp (4.30 hrs)

Wake up early morning for see the sunrise which is fabulous. Having breakfast then walk down to Forest Camp.(B/L/D)

Day 10 : Trek to Lwang Ghale Village.(4.30 Hrs / 1,500 m)

Having breakfast then heading to Lwang Village which takes 4.30 hours walk. Lwang is a self-sufficient Gurung village with rich culture and happy people. The village is the best place to watch the Nepalese countryside lifestyle and enjoy organic food.(B/L/D)

Day 11 : Back to Pokhara

Having breakfast then we will back to Pokhara after 1.30 min Drive. Daytime relaxing at Pokhara(B)

Day 12 : Back to Kathmandu

Transfer to Kathmandu.Leisure time. Overnight at Kathmandu.(B)

Day 13 : Farewell

Leisure time until departure .As per your flight time we will transfer in the airport.(B)
