Langtang Gosainkunda Trek 8N/9D


Langtang Gosaikunda trek is a combination of a remote but spectacular Langtang region where Lake Gosainkunda resides on the lap of the mountains. The lustrous green forests, the beautiful Himalayan ranges, the Langtang National park area all highlights this trek and makes it an exquisite experience. What makes this trek unique is the people residing in these highlands of the Langtang region. Though Nepalese, they are the descendants of Tibet thus this place gives a unique taste of both the Tibetan and the Hindu Culture and lifestyle. There are numerous Gompas and Monasteries along the way.Langtang valley is the neighbouring Himalayan region from Kathmandu valley easily reached on few hours’ drive. One can easily notice the change in lifestyle upon reaching this region. What accompanies along the trail is the beautiful rhododendron forests, bamboos, majestic waterfalls and the snowcapped mountain ranges. This trek offers the mesmerizing views of the Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, DorjeLakap, Nayakanga, and Langshisa. The Gosainkuda Lake is certainly the cherry of the cake and rounds up your trek as one of the best treks in the Himalayas.

 

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu:
Our airport representative will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and transfer to your hotel. Depending upon the time of your arrival, pre-trip meeting will be hosted either on the first day or the first hour of the second day. During the evening, you will be taken for a traditional Nepali welcome dinner with cultural performances.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu:
After your morning breakfast, you will be received by your guide for the sightseeing at Kathmandu. The sites you will be taken for are:


SwoyambhuNath Stupa: Located on the top of the hill, Swoyambhunath Stupa is a Buddhist holy site also known as the monkey temple. The dome shaped Stupa with eyes on all four sides is absolutely beautiful. The view of the whole Kathmandu valley from the top of the stupa is breath taking. 
Kathmandu Durbar Square: Located at the heart of Kathmandu, Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the ancient palaces in Kathmandu Valley; Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square being the other two. The Durbar Square comprises of a palace, a courtyard, the temples and various statues.
Pashupatinath Temple: The holy Hindu temple, Pashupatinath is the temple of Lord Shiva and also comprises of many other temples. This UNESCO world heritage site is magnificent in structure and the holy Bagmati River that flows alongside is where cremation rituals is performed.
Boudhanath Stupa: Situated to the north eastern outskirts of Kathmandu, this is another holy place for the Buddhists. The dome, mandala, pinnacle, the umbrella and the whole Stupa itself is a true work of art and beauty. Recently renovated Stupa post-earthquake gives the serenity in the crowded city.

Day 03: Kathmandu –Dhunche (1966m): 6-7 hours
Early in the morning, we head on to the road for a drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche. We encounter the White Mountain peaks of the Langtang range, the terraced farmlands and the beautiful hills along the way. The Trishuli River flows alongside with us. After driving for almost 6 to 7 hours we finally reach Dhunche.Overnight at a Guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. 


Day 04: Dhunche to Sing Gompa(3330m) - 5 Hrs
After the morning breakfast we prepare to leave for the trek. The trail ascends gradually towards GhatteKhola (stream). After crossing the suspension bridge over this stream, we continue our trek up the hill through the pine forests, silver oak trees and rhododendron for almost 5 hours we finally reach Sing Gompa, our destination for the day.Overnight at a Guesthouse. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.


Day 05: Trek from Sing Gompa to GosainKunda (4380m) - 5 hrs:
From Sing Gompa we climb a ridge up to the main Gosainkunda trail. We follow a rugged trail with dramatic views to the Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks and LangtangLirung. Eventually, the trail descends from the ridge to the first of three lakes SarashowtiKunda, second is BhairabKunda and third is the holy GosainKunda. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit this lake during a full- moon festival in August. The lake is also scared to Buddhists.

Day 06: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte (3200m) - 6.30 hrs:
Today we leave Gosaikunda and climb through the rugged country, past four small lakes to the Laurebina La (4610meters), the highest point of this trek. On a clear day we can see Annapurna range throughout our way. Then the trail leads us steeply down to Phedi (3740m). From here, the route drops to the stream then climbs through the scrub Bamboo to a crest. We continue to walk down throughout, crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees to Ghopte.

Day 07: Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang (2446m) - 6 hrs:
Descending from the ridge at Ghopte, the trail makes numerous ups and downs across ravines and the boulders of old moraines. The trail slightly descends and then begins to ascend through the rhododendron, oak and juniper forests up to the Tharepati (3510m). We trek downhill with only one small ridge to cross en route and stop at Kutumsang, an interesting typically old-fashioned Helambu village. Attractive Mountain views as well as local peoples’ life style, culture; customs would be worth every difficult walks.

Day 08: Trek to Chisapani - 2210m (5-6 hr):
The trail today goes through forests and some small villages.We walk up and down the trails where the Himalayan ranges of Manaslu and Everest never fail to accompany us throughout. We pass through BorlangBhanjyang to reach Sundarijal and an Army check post as well.  After walking for almost 5 to 6 hours we finally reach the beautiful forest of Sundarijal. The scenic beauty of the lustrous rich forest, the taller trees, the chirping birds and the relaxing sound of the water bodies makes us rejuvenated and reenergizes our body. This is the ending point of our LangtangGosainkunda trek. A private vehicle awaits for us to take us back to Kathmandu. It’s an hour Drive to Kathmandu from Sundarijal.

Day 09: Transfer to the International Airport for departure
This is your last day in Kathmandu. After breakfast, you will be fetched upon by our guide; 3 hours prior to your flight time and drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure.

What makes this trip different then others:We are working together with Village Environment Nepal a non-political and non-profit social organization. We contribute our support to the remote village of Panch Khuwa Deurali and many others villages (Gorkha and all over  Nepal) through donation, sponsorship and partnership in various projects.

Donation:We donates a percentage of business profits to the foundation on a yearly basis, which supports the ongoing maintenance cost required for Village School and we support to Divyenetra Community Orphan home and Community School.

Accommodation:

We will  arrange any  hotel in Kathmandu as per your request.Room on twin sharing basis where you will find neat and clean environment.

During the trekking we will arrange your accommodation at standard tea house or lodge – room on twin sharing basis with attached bathroom however some places will not have attached bathroom so, bathroom are on sharing basis.

Meal:

We offer breakfast in the hotel in Kathmandu but you have to pay your own lunch and dinner.

We will provide all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) during the trekking in Mountain area.

Transportation:

Vehicle:You will have a private tourist vehicle in Kathmandu.

Vehicle:Local bus/Private Vehicle as per your own interest for kathamndu to Dhunche and Syabru Besi to Kathmandu.

Guide & Porter during the trekking:

During trekking we will provide a professional trekking guide (license holder). We arrange porter(s) to carry your gears (a porter can carry maximum 15 kg) and the porter will accompany with you. The number of porter depends on group size. We have a insured guides and porters as well.We will provide their  salary, accommodation, insurance, meals.

Travel Insurance:All trekkers / travelers are requested to insure their travel insurance before traveling Gosainkunda Trek. Please note that the insurance should be covered medical, air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and all treatment costs.
